As a part of the annual campaign and to increase awareness of Breast Cancer, Year 5&6 students were involved in the Breast Cancer awareness session from 18th-19th of October. This interactive session provided important facts about the early detection and the importance of regular check ups. To provide an understanding, a video was shared and discussions were held in the classroom.Students made cards ,crafts and wrote their thoughts and actions to be taken to increase attention and support for the awareness.

Math week held from 11th October – 15th October, 2020 was a fantastic opportunity for children to engage in Math activities which differ from those in a normal lesson. Over the course of the week, Year 5 students participated in different math activities designed to challenge thinking and develop problem solving skills. These activities included learning about the designing of the spacecrafts and how Math is involved in the designing of spacecrafts. Students did researches with great curiosity and created videos to share their findings with their peers. They used their creative skills to make the models of rockets using recyclable materials and explored ‘Tinker cad’ to create the models digitally. Brain teasers engaged the children to use their reasoning skills while they had loads of fun solving them Being selected as the pilot for the Mars mission, students got excellent chance to do a budgeting for their trip. They thoroughly enjoyed this activity as it was the first time they attempted something like that. To put it in a nutshell, Math week was a great success in encouraging the children to appreciate the amazing things in our world which use Maths!Students of year 5 joined together , on 7th of October 2020 to participate in various interesting activities based on Global Dignity Day. The day commenced with exciting activities of live speeches and “On the spot” poster making participation. Children brimmed up with enthusiasm, presented their work and enjoyed exchange of thoughts on the topic. SEWA is a universal concept, which involves performing an act of kindness without expectation of reward. It is performed selflessly and without ulterior motive. Year 5 students were encouraged to come up with ideas to perform SEWA and experience the true joy of giving. It enhanced their ability to think about others, to be empathetic, relieve hardship and poverty, help the environment and bring a little joy to those who have little. Students came forward to participate in the activities with a lot of enthusiasm.
Students were involved indifferent activities to promote awareness on Road Safety. They have made PowerPoint presentation/podcast/video and recorded the important guidelines one must follow while moving on the road. Students have also recorded videos where they act a s a reporter depicting the importance of the rules and regulations which people must adhere. Some students created a skit or a role-play with their family members/friends to showcase the importance of following the rules and guidelines for road safety. Students have posted posters in Padlet, highlighting the key features and regulations required for road safety. The various activities held in class will provided them the best chance of keeping safe while they’re young and as they get older. As a part of Sewa Day celebration, the theme of the Assembly was chosen as Sharing and Caring. Sewa is a universal concept, which involves performing an act of kindness without expectation of reward. Our students narrated a story revolving around putting others’ needs before themselves. Many students shared their experience of how they practised Sharing and Caring in their day to day life and taking care of people in need.The classification of facts, the recognition of their sequence and relative significance is the function of science, and the habit of forming a judgement upon these facts unbiased by personal feeling is characteristic of what may be termed the scientific frame of mind’’. Year 5 students were provided with opportunities to identify and solve challenges and express their views independently during the science week. This enhanced their ability to go beyond the mere possession of information and think differently and respond to varied situations in life. Student came forward to take part in the activities with a lot of enthusiasm. |
