Children are the true wealth of society”- Dedicating a day for Emirati children emphasizes the importance that the UAE attaches to the next generations, the hope of tomorrow, and the commitment of the wise leadership to protect the rights of all children and create the right conditions to develop their abilities and skills.
At Winchester School, Year 5 students had a wonderful time. Celebrations included reading stories for the children on Emirati heritage ; videos on scientists; games; a photo corner and beautiful day to cherish.

To cultivate the love for Maths and strengthen skills of questioning and enquiry, World Maths Day was celebrated on Thursday 14th March at The Winchester School. The students took part in a range of fun activities during the registration time & Maths lesson. This provided them with new and exciting experience as well as support in developing key skills and mathematical thinking.
Tolerance is an act of humanity and Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between people. The children of Winchester of year 5 were creative and showed their act of friendship by making speech bubble and having conversations with their friends. This brings out affection; kindness, love, virtue, sympathy, empathy, honesty, altruism, loyalty, generosity, forgiveness, mutual understanding and compassion, enjoyment of each other's company, trust, and the ability to be oneself, express one's feelings to others, and make mistakes without fear of judgment from the friend which forms an essential aspect of relationship building skills through tolerance.
It was a day filled with excitement and fun when the children of year 5, was introduced to a very interesting and important topic relevant to today’s world on Tolerance. Children created Emoji’s representing themselves and described their feelings and opinion using descriptive words and phrases followed by a detailed whole class discussion. Children enthusiastically participated and creatively presented their work in the form of posters.
Class 5H presented an assembly to create awareness about the important contribution made by Victorians to Victorian society and the modern society in variety of different ways. The students of 5H conveyed the message on how the lives of Victorian children and the modern children are different and alike.
Year 5 Field TripIn our endeavor to incorporate STREAM into learning, this field trip was an opportunity to create a multi-sensory reading experience and move our reading experience outdoors. This outdoor activity also helped to enhance broaden one’s intellect and knowledge, as well as in promoting tolerance, openness and intercultural communication. The children and the teachers enthusiastically and actively participated in various activities. It was an interesting trip specially with activities like “Story telling time:” and “Play time / exercise time.
