Year 5&6 students celebrated international day of Happiness on 22nd March . The focus of the activity was to see others’ happiness from their point of view. The students emphasized that putting a smile on someone’s face will definitely put one on ours, too. Be happy!! spread cheer and happiness wherever you go! and the world will smile with you!! Students created happiness card, posters, T-shirt and cup digitally explaining what is happiness.

Students of year 5&6 participated in World Poetry Day and is now celebrated in hundreds of countries around the world. This day provides a perfect opportunity to examine poets and their craft in the classroom. In 1999, UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) also designated March 21 as World Poetry Day. As part of this activity, students wrote poem (Acrostics, Concrete or Cinquains) using five senses, and drew sketch of their favourite places.
It is well proved that sports, whether team based or individual, can have lots of positive impacts on children. Participation in sports can aid physical and social development, contribute to academic success and help nurture a child’s self-esteem. Year 5 students were overjoyed to participate in the events conducted during their Sports Day as they missed their Sports Day past two years. The Winchester PE department had organized both individual and team events such as 100-meter race, shooting the target, Hurdle race, Obstacle race and Relay race in which all year 5 students participated with great enthusiasm. Presence of Parents motivated the children and parents of year 5 enjoyed watching their children taking part in the sports day.
The country is celebrating the occasion, under the theme of 'right to play’ to raise the awareness of community members on the importance of play for children. Along with the UAE, year 5 & 6 students through various activities celebrated the Emirati Children’s Day on March 15th. Talent show to showcase their skills, creating jingles or advertisement to promote the well-being of our students was conducted. In addition , Year 5 and Year 6 students were involved in writing letter to HH Sheikh Mohammad expressing their gratitude and vision about the future of the UAE. Through, public speaking young Emirati poets and writers were appreciated.
To make the world a better place to live for everyone, enthusiastic students of Year 5F showcased their talents by choosing the Theme – Cultural Diversity in the form of Class Assembly which was conducted on 9th March. Through this assembly Year 5F students shared and celebrated the differences and created a culture of inclusion acceptance among their classmates. Meanwhile Mr. Hussian Memon father of Rania Aamir and Ms. Sophia Rosaria, mother of Shenelle Rosaria shared their insight thought about cultural diversity.
Year 5C conducted their Class Assembly on 3rd March 2022 which was a celebration of “National I Want You To Be Happy Day”. The focus of the assembly was to see others’ happiness from their point of view. The students emphasized that putting a smile on someone’s face will definitely put one on ours, too. Ms. Rania Takla, mother of Julie Takla, and Mr. Fawaz Mureb, father of Abdullah Mureb, spoke to our learners about the importance of being happy and spreading happiness around them, and inspired them to lead happy, peaceful and successful lives. Year 5C urged the Students of Year 5 to take a pledge on “National I Want You to be Happy Day” to spread cheer and happiness wherever they go!
On Zero Discrimination Day, 1st March, at Winchester, we celebrated the right of everyone to live a full and productive life—and live it with dignity. Zero Discrimination Day highlights how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change. Year 5& 6 Students, parents and teachers came together to discuss the urgent need to act to end the inequalities surrounding income, age, health status, occupation, disability, gender, race, class, ethnicity and religion that continue to persist around the world. On the Zero Discrimination Day, Year 5 & 6 students took their own pledges to stand against the society and laws that discriminates people on the basis of very minute altercation.
