Students of year 5 and 6 had an enriching and meaningful day when they joined together, on 4th of October 2021 to participate in various interesting activities based on Global Dignity Day. Students could connect well with the theme of the day when their parents talked about their profession and why they chose that profession. Children brimmed up with enthusiasm, shared their dream profession with the classmates.

Year 5& 6 students celebrated World Space Day with many activities to create awareness among all young students to be inspired and aspired towards the space world. It was an excellent opportunity for the learners to obtain first-hand experience of NASA’s Florida Space Field and the overview of the International Space Station which is one of the most achievable tasks in human history. While witnessing the virtual field trips, students were awestruck by some of the unknown facts about space. Followed by this, our young aspiring astronauts thoroughly engaged themselves leading towards a fruitful discussion about the space and its endless opportunities.
The day started with children taking part in various activities linked with International Peace day. & Gratitude day. Children gave this message that” Gratitude Day is the best time to thank you everyone who has done something worth & made Thankyou cards for helpers and staff. Students discussed the existence of Peace & Harmony in U.A.E. Children created peace logo and wrote a peace message. Many parents joined the morning sharing meaningful messages with our students. Students researched about the Nobel Prize Winners of Peace and their contribution to humanity. Lastly, through art & music children expressed their creativity in form of posters, and composing rap songs and poems on peace & gratitude.
The classification of facts, the recognition of their sequence and relative significance is the function of science, and the habit of forming a judgment upon these facts unbiased by personal feeling is characteristic of what may be termed the scientific frame of mind’’. In the Winchester School, Science week was celebrated from 26th to 30th September and students of Year 5 came forward to take part in the activities with a lot of enthusiasm. The activities provided the students lots of opportunities to identify and solve challenges and express their views independently which enhanced their ability to go beyond than the mere possession of information. The unit on Earth and Space was instrumental paving the way for students to propose a design or solution to reduce the space debris.
