Roald Dahl Day is a celebration of the iconic children's author and commemoration of his achievements whose books have been enchanting, timeless and a persistent favourite amongst children today. Roald Dahl Day happens every year on his birthday celebrating the magic that he brought and continues to bring to children everywhere.
Students of Year 5 celebrated Roald Dahl Day by engaging in a variety of activities, through which they enlivened the spirit of reading and brought Roald Dahl’s characters and scenes to life. Pupils enthusiastically contributed to the ‘Author meets the critic’ and book review activities conducted in their respective classes. It was so spectacular to witness the students dressed up as the author and his book characters as well as to be a part of the knowledge-brimming conversation that took place between the characters and the student critics. The day reiterated the many ‘life lessons’ that Dahl’s books contain which are still very much relevant today.
